Nested Funds provides customers with a clear financial picture of their parents' future, and empowers them to make data-driven decisions to increase their parents’ quality of life while lowering costs.

  • NestedFunds is a startup aimed at helping families gain a clear financial understanding of their parents' future. We focus on designing a web app from scratch to provide actionable insights, empowering users to improve their parents' quality of life while managing costs effectively.

  • I led a team of three UX / UI designers, overseeing the design and execution of the Web App. During the ideation phase, I collaborated with my team on competitive research, user research, and brainstorming innovative solutions

  • Families struggle to plan for their parents’ future due to a lack of accessible tools that provides a clear financial picture. They face challenges in making informed decisions to balance quality of life and costs effectively.

Secondary Research

Our primary demographic is Millennials, so we researched to identify the key aspects of financial tools that resonate with them. Millennials value a playful yet straightforward interface—visually engaging designs while simplifying complex information into easily digestible formats.

We also explored Millennials' perceptions of the elderly. This generation holds great respect for seniors who remain authentic and continue to pursue their goals at any stage of life. They see older adults as individuals full of vitality and admire their perseverance.

Of Users’ families do not have a retirement plan

Health concerns were a significant theme. Users worried about their parents' well-being due to chronic illnesses or decades of laborious work.

Of users want to guide their parents’ retirement planning

In addition to a lack of knowledge, elderly parents face other user pain points.

Deeper conversations are often hindered by pride (parents feeling they should know more) and fear of the unknown.

Other concerns include adult children inheriting debt, facing unexpected expenses, and eventually taking on the responsibility of managing their parents' finances
